Manchester United are preparing a £25 million bid for Benfica talent, as Erik Ten Hag approved winter deals.
According to rumors, Manchester United is contemplating a bid for Goncalo Ramos, a forward for Benfica.
The 21-year-old has alerted United officials who are looking for a forward with his eight goals in 12 games for the Portuguese team so far this season.
The Sun reports that United has spoken with Ramos’ representation but will not pay more than the £25 million Benfica value the forward at.
Prior to the January transfer window, the Galzer family is rumored to be preparing a quiet window after spending £230 million in the summer, leaving new manager Erik ten Hag with his hands constrained.
However, it is anticipated that they would attempt to sign a forward given that Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are now injured and Cristiano Ronaldo is still trying to leave the team.
As Eddie Howe’s team searched for a striker in the summer transfer window, Newcastle kept an eye on Ramos, but they ended up spending £63 million on Alexander Isak.
Ramos, a Portugal U21 international, has scored 20 goals for Benfica overall in 59 games.
After scoring against Liverpool in the Champions League quarterfinal of last season while providing assistance for Reds summer addition Darwin Nunez, he has maintained his excellent form into this year and is soon to transfer to a major European league.
After losing their first two games of the season back-to-back, United has won four straight games, including triumphs over Liverpool and Arsenal. They are expecting to continue this winning streak after the international break.
