Manchester United could terminate Ronaldo’s contract and his possible new club has made an approach to sign him.
When the January transfer window opens, Cristiano Ronaldo plans to leave Manchester United and has spoken with Bayern Munich about his plans.
Ronaldo claimed in an interview with Piers Morgan that he feels betrayed because Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and club executives are trying to oust him from the team.
According to numerous reports, after Bayern representatives traveled to England for talks, Cristiano Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes met with the Bundesliga giants last week.
Mendes made a valiant effort to lure Ronaldo away from United in the summer by pitching him to Bayern and a number of other teams, including Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon, and Napoli. Last month, Mendes also spoke with Newcastle.
Oliver Khan, the chief executive of Bayern, acknowledged in July that they had looked into signing Ronaldo, but claimed that he did not fit with the team’s “philosophy.”
The Germans were hesitant to pay the player’s £500,000 weekly salary after spending £35 million on Sadio Mane from Liverpool to replace Robert Lewandowski. Bayern, however, has rekindled their interest in light of Mane’s fitness concerns and Eric Maxim Choupo-uncertain Moting’s future.
Oliver Kahn, the head of Bayern Munich, stated in July that Ronaldo did not fit into the team’s “philosophy,” but they have since changed their position due to issues with some of their current attackers.
After witnessing rival Lionel Messi come within 11 goals of breaking his record of 140 goals, Ronaldo is desperate to play in the Champions League once more. In the intriguing round of last 16 matches in February, Bayern will play Messi and Paris Saint-Germain.
Additionally, Todd Boehly, owner of Chelsea, might give Ronaldo a way out of United in January. The American, who is close friends with Mendes, expressed interest in Ronaldo in the summer but was turned down by Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Chelsea at the time.
Graham Potter, however, is reportedly equally unenthusiastic about the idea of signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at this point in his career.
Real Madrid will not be interested in bringing the club legend back to the club. He did great things for the club, but his career is over with them.
