Manchester United fans heaps praises on new arrival Eriksen after his second half cameo against Atletico Madrid.
In Oslo, Christian Eriksen made his first “real” Manchester United appearance off the bench.
the signing of Despite the fact that Manchester United’s preseason match against Atletico Madrid ended in defeat, Christian Eriksen won over fans in his first “real” outing for the team.
The Danish international’s past year has been incredibly difficult after falling during a Euro 2020 match last summer and nearly dying. Eriksen, 30, spent the second half of the previous season with Brentford after being released by Italian powerhouse Inter Milan.
When that short-term deal expired, Manchester United was one of numerous clubs interested in the player, but Erik ten Hag ultimately prevailed in the battle for his services.
Eriksen is one of three new hires United has made so far this summer. The other two are Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez.
Malacia was the only one of those three to start against Atletico on Saturday afternoon in Oslo, but despite creating some excellent chances, United lost 1-0. Joao Felix scored the winning goal off the bench after Fred was sent off for United for two cautionable offenses.
Eriksen’s cameo was one of United’s plusses. The former Tottenham playmaker almost assisted Harry Maguire at a corner inside five minutes of his second-half entry, and he also delivered in a dangerous cross that Marcus Rashford and Anthony Elanga were unable to finish. Even though Atletico eventually scored the winning goal, Eriksen still found himself in the spotlight for his entertaining cameo.
