Manchester United is the preferred option for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as summer transfer window hots up.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, a midfielder for Lazio, would like a transfer to Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
According to a source from Corriere dello Sport (print edition, July 25, page 14), a transfer to Manchester United is by far the most alluring option for the 27-year-old player and the Red Devils have the clout to force Lazio to sell him immediately.
The 34-cap Serbian international has the kind of body required for success in the Premier League and is tremendously strong. However, Lazio is asking for about €80 million (£68 million) for the midfielder (Gazzetta dello Sport).
It may be argued that there are considerably better buys available this summer on the transfer market than investing that much money on a 27-year-old.
Having said that, it appears as though United wouldn’t hesitate to spend that much money for the Lazio ace.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic prefers Manchester United, according to Corriere dello Sport (print edition, July 25, page 14). The midfielder believes that the 20-time English league champions are the most alluring option for him this summer, in addition to United having the money to force Lazio to sell the 27-year-old immediately.
We don’t see any reason why Erik ten Hag shouldn’t sign Milinkovic-Savic if he truly wants to do so.
One of the top midfielders in the world is the Lazio star. The central midfielder Milinkovic-Savic typically plays a little bit deeper. Fair enough, he plays phenomenally. The midfielder was recently referred to as “unstoppable” by Football Italia. The Laziali describe him as “world-class” in the meantime.
There is no doubt that the 27-year-old would make a great Paul Pogba replacement.
In 37 Serie A games last season, Milinkovic-Savic scored an extremely outstanding 11 goals and provided 11 assists. He averaged 1.8 tackles, 1.1 clearances, and 2.8 aerial victories per game.
The 34-cap Serbian international averaged 62.2 passes per game and had an 81.4 percent completion rate across in 37 matches.
Milinkovic-Savic has a ton of experience and would be a fantastic addition to United’s engine room. The midfielder is large and strong, and he has remarkable stamina and energy.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serb will demand almost £120,000 per week to join Old Trafford.
In this day and age, that seems acceptable. And if Milinkovic-Savic joins Manchester United this summer, Ten Hag will have a very talented player on his hands—albeit a costly one.
