Manchester United offered Pablo Gavi a €5m contract, with the Barca youngster making a tough decision.
In a shocking revelation, writer Anais Marti Herrero of La Vanguardia reported that Barcelona’s star player Gavi rejected a hefty €5 million contract offer from Manchester United this summer.
In 2021/22, Gavi experienced a triumphant breakthrough campaign. The 18-year-old, a graduate of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, has solidly established himself as a crucial player in the first-team system.
However, because the contract of the young sensation was due to expire in 2023, curiosity over his future had been rife this past summer. There were worries that some teams may activate his previous contract’s release clause, which had a €50 million value, to entice him away.
Gavi was extensively connected to a move to Liverpool, while Bayern Munich also showed a lot of interest in the 18-year-old.
Now, according to the claim from Anais Marti Herrero, Manchester United was also interested in signing Gavi and even gave the La Masia graduate a substantial contract offer. The 18-year-old was really presented with a three-year contract worth €5 million per season, according to the story.

However, the 18-year-old, whose first objective has always been to remain in Barcelona and prosper, met them with a resounding denial.
After agreeing to a new, long-term contract with the Catalan giants, which would extend his time at Spotify Camp Nou until 2026, the adolescent acknowledged as much. He is currently protected by a huge €1 billion release clause.
Gavi has made 54 appearances for Barcelona since making his first team, scoring two goals and assisting six more. This season, he has surpassed more seasoned players like Frenkie de Jong and Franck Kessie to start every game.
