Manchester United to make Diogo Dalot transfer demand after Barcelona strong interest.
SPORT reported earlier today that Barcelona’s primary target for the summer of 2023 to strengthen the right-back position was Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.
The 23-year-old international from Portugal is in the last year of his deal with the top Premier League clubs. To keep him at the club until 2024 and preserve his transfer worth, they do have the option of adding another year to the agreement.
A new SPORT report suggests that Manchester United may ask for €25 million to trade Dalot during the 2019 summer transfer window.
According to the report, the Red Devils want to persuade the right-back to extend his stay at Old Trafford. However, if that does not materialize, they would try to sell him for a profit.
In the summer of 2018, Manchester United paid about €22 million to acquire him from FC Porto. The defender was on loan at AC Milan for a full season before starting every game at Old Trafford since last season.

The Portuguese star has made ten appearances in all competitions this season, recording two assists in the process.
Barcelona has expressed interest in Dalot during the summer transfer window before. In actuality, discussions for a direct swap trade involving him and Sergino Dest had taken place between the two clubs. The transfer, nevertheless, never happened because Erik ten Hag was unwilling to let the Portugal international go.
However, given the terms of his contract and Barça’s keen interest, a sale may become feasible the following year. According to the source, Barcelona would try to close the transfer for less money than Dalot’s Transfermarkt worth of €28 million.
If contract talks with the 23-year-old do not proceed as expected, Manchester United will most certainly demand at least €25 million for him.
Barcelona is thinking about making a major drive for Dalot, but the key question is whether they would be willing to pony out such a sum.
