The former England international was reportedly arrested for the third time on Saturday morning after failing to comply with his bail terms.
The football player has been charged, according to the Crown Prosecution Services.
Considering the charges Mason Greenwood, 21, has been charged by the Crown Prosecution Service with attempted rape, using coercive or controlling behavior, and assault causing actual bodily harm, according to Janet Potter, the deputy chief crown prosecutor for CPS North West.
“The same complainant is involved in all three counts.
“After reviewing a dossier of evidence that CPS North West’s difficult casework team received from Greater Manchester Police, specialist rape prosecutors approved the charges.
The defendant’s initial court appearance will occur at Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Court on October 17.

The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone involved that the defendant is the subject of ongoing criminal proceedings and has a right to a fair trial.

Greenwood’s initial bail was supposed to run out in April, but after a court hearing, it was extended in June.
No other information will be published until the person was either charged or freed with no further action taken, a spokeswoman subsequently confirmed.
