Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski leads his country (Poland) out in their first World Cup game against Mexico, but the game ended in a goalless draw.
During Poland’s opening World Cup match against Mexico, Robert Lewandowski missed a crucial penalty.
Around the hour mark of the game, Lewandowski was brought down in the penalty area by Hector Moreno. The referee’s initial decision to reject the appeals was later overturned after a VAR review.
The task of converting the penalty and putting Poland in control fell to Lewandowski after that.
The Barcelona forward attempted to score, but Guillermo Ochoa easily stopped his effort as it was heading for the lower right corner of the goal.

The Mexico goalkeeper, who had established quite a reputation for his World Cup performances, made the correct judgment call to stop Robert Lewandowski’s rather timid effort.
Argentina will face Mexico on Saturday while Poland’s next game is Saudi Arabia, who defeated Argentina 2-1 on Tuesday.
