Neymar, a forward for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has used one word to sum up legendary players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
(According to DAZN Canada) The Brazilian described the two longstanding adversaries as: “Genius.”
Given the amazing careers both famous forwards have had, it is an appropriate descriptor.
Ronaldo has won the Ballon d’Or five times compared to Messi’s seven.
While the Argentine has four European championships, the Portuguese attacker has won the Champions League five times.
The list goes on and on in an effort to contrast the two, but Neymar may know Messi better than anyone else.
The pair played together in Barcelona and achieved great success as part of the amazing “MSN” trio with Luis Suarez.
Along with two La Liga championships, the tandem also won the Champions League once.
During his tenure at the Nou Camp, Neymar scored 105 goals and provided 76 assists, while Messi rose to become widely regarded as the greatest player to ever play in Catalonia.
During his 16 seasons at Barcelona, the Argentine scored an astonishing 672 goals and 303 assists in 778 matches.
Last summer, he made a bittersweet exit and moved to PSG, where he was reunited with Neymar.
The two have gotten off to a scorching start in the new season after winning Ligue 1 last year.
In six appearances, the Brazilian has nine goals and seven assists, while the Argentine has four goals and six assists.
“I’d like to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. I’ve previously had the opportunity to play with talented athletes like Messi and [Kylian] Mbappe, but I haven’t yet done so with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Given that the storied United striker is now 37, the former Santos forward has ran out of time to do so.

Because of his memorable performances and incredible success in the competition, Ronaldo has earned the title “Mr. Champions League.”
The Red Devils striker owns the all-time record for goals scored with 140 along with five tournament victories.
The former Real Madrid forward will not participate in the league this year because United will play in the Europa League.
The Portuguese scored 24 goals in 38 games last season, but the new season has not started well for them.
It has been said that he doesn’t want to be at Old Trafford because he hasn’t scored or provided an assist in his first seven games.
According to ESPN, PSG was rumored to be interested in bringing him to the Parc des Princes, but the Ligue 1 champions declined the offer.
The chance to witness Neymar finally fulfilling his dream of playing for the Portuguese would have been ideal.
