Neymar Jr was disrespected by the referee and it’s too late when he apologize in full-time.
After receiving a booking for celebrating Paris Saint-3-1 Germain’s victory over Maccabi Haifa, Neymar referred to modern football as “boring.”
In their Champions League Group H match on Wednesday night, the Brazil winger scored PSG’s third goal and opted to perform his signature celebration.
He appeared to be paying homage to his son by sticking his tongue out and placing his thumbs on his head.
Neymar attempted to argue against the booking but referee Daniel Siebert could not see the humor in it.
In his post-game interview, the 30-year-old criticized the choice and spoke briefly about the state of football today.
According to the Mirror, he vented: “I just spoke with the referee after meeting him. He said “sorry,” However, I’ve already received a yellow card. This shows utter disrespect for the players. We need the referees to keep us safe.
“It’s terribly unfortunate what happened to me today. Football is becoming monotonous, and we can’t enjoy it.
This shows a lack of respect for football as well as for me.
Neymar posted a lengthy message to his Twitter feed to continue his online rant.
The ex-Bayern Madrid player alleged: “Total disrespect for the sportsman. This type of thing is impossible.
“I accept the yellow because I did nothing and am still being hurt. The judge, too? He won’t even admit he was mistaken! There is a lot of disrespect.
He has 11 goals and seven assists through just 10 games, and Christophe Galtier’s team is undefeated across all competitions.
Neymar, together with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, will be essential to the French giants’ quest to win the Champions League, which is something they are very obsessed with doing.
