Ahead of the AFCON 2022, the Super Eagles have decided to release their squad list, but some of their star players were not spotted.
Nigeria is one of the favorite teams that could win the trophy, but can the super eagles do it without these players?
William Troost-Ekong and Wilfred Ndidi all made the list, but some star players missed due to an injury problem.
1. Victor Osimhen: the Napoli forward who came out and claimed that he is ready for the AFCON, has been ruled out after he tested positive for Covid-19.
He is not fully fit to play and Gernot Rohr decided to replace him. Victor Osimhen is one of the best strikers in the Italian league and he has done really well this season.
Victor Osimhen has done really well for the Nigerian national team, but he is set to miss the Africa cup of nations due to his Covid-19.
2. Leon Balogun: the Nigerian defender is one of the players who failed to make the list. Leon Balogun has been replaced and Gernot Rohr is set to make his selections without him.
3. Emmanuel Dennis: the Watford forward will not participate in the tournament next month. Emmanuel Dennis has turned things around since he makes a move to the premier league.
The super eagle striker will not be available for selection after missing out on the list.
4. Shehu: he failed to travel with the squad and he will not participate in the tournament. Gernot Rohr will be without these 4 players.
