Nigerian goalkeeper Uzoho gives a wonderful interview after he made 12 saves against his boyhood club.
Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper Francis Uzoho gave a sensational interview following his side’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Europa League.
Scott McTominay’s injury-time winner gave United a vital win in Group E, but it wasn’t without struggle.
Uzoho started the game after an injury to number one Fabiano earlier in the week. Against his boyhood side, Uzoho put in an astonishing performance by making 12 saves.
The 23-year-old spoke to BT Sport at full-time, with his enthusiasm clear to see.
Despite having a point snatched away at the last second, Uzoho was still buzzing after playing at Old Trafford for the first time in his career.
Uzoho responded when asked if he was displeased with the outcome: “We played a terrific game, therefore I am not disappointed.
“However, I’m glad since it’s not an easy stadium to play in with these huge guys. I would have wanted to at least gain a point. I’m content all around!”
The Nigerian international grinned broadly and responded, when asked if he supported Manchester United: “Yes, yes! A dream of mine has come true. For a very long time, I have wanted to play here.
“I longed to participate and prayed to God for a chance to play when I read the draw and realized I would be playing at Old Trafford. I succeeded, and I’m glad I participated here.”

Despite Marcus Rashford having a staggering 10 shots in the first half, Uzoho managed to contain Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro, and all three of them.
Before going on, he acknowledged that it was his best performance to date “It wasn’t a one man show, so I’m happy of my team.
“As a team, we gave it our all on the playing field. I’m pleased with how I did.”
United will need to win their final two games against FC Sheriff and Real Sociedad to top the group and avoid teams that drop down from the Champions League.
In his post-game interview, McTominay praised Uzoho and said he was “another class.”
You occasionally need to be patient, the midfielder remarked. Marcus [Rashford] had numerous opportunities to score, but he failed to do so.
They had a world-class goalkeeper, but we had enough chances and deserved to win in the end.
On Sunday afternoon, United will play again against Newcastle United.
