Official: Ballon D’Or award night and the date for the nominees revelation have been confirmed, with Messi set to handover to Benzema.
Argentine and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi was the winner of the 2021 Ballon D’Or award and I think that deserved it.
Everything indicates that Real Madrid and French forward Karim Benzema will win the Ballon D’Or award this year and there’s no doubt about it.
This award is not given based on the player’s individual awards won, most importantly is what you win with your club or country.

Robert Lewandowski and the likes of Jorginho and N’golo Kante came very close last year, but Lionel Messi was clear.

The Ballon D’Or winner will be announced on the 17th of October 2022 while the nominees will be confirmed on 12th August 2022.
Karim Benzema have already won the La Liga and he is currently in the UEFA Champions League final. He gave everything for his club this season and he has emerged as the favorite player to win the prestigious award.
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are also a contender, but I think that Karim Benzema deserve to win the award.
Liverpool missed out on the Premier League Trophy while Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi won the League tittle with their Clubs.
