Official: Barcelona issued injury update about Ronald Araujo after two months claims, as he was ruled out of the next game.
Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo’s injuries were officially updated this morning by Barcelona. On the first day of the international break, the pair sustained injuries to their left and right thighs, respectively, and are now in potentially dangerous situations.
In fact, Araujo’s injury will prevent him from playing football for close to 6-7 weeks, according to Javi Miguel. His recuperation will be determined by how well the same is doing, but Barça will suffer greatly from losing nearly two months of football during the most difficult portion of the season.
Araujo will be absent from the matches against Inter Milan, both at home and away, Real Madrid, Villarreal, Athletic Club, and Bayern Munich’s return match at Camp Nou if he is actually out for the next month and a half.
Although Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen, and Gerard Pique are more than capable back-ups for Barcelona, the Uruguayan is widely regarded as the team’s greatest defender.
Not to mention, the defender himself will be very worried about this. If he doesn’t heal in time for the World Cup, which starts on November 20, he might not make Uruguay’s traveling squad.
Regarding Kounde, there is still hope despite his injury. At first, it was anticipated that he would be absent for close to a month. As of right now, the news seems to indicate that the Frenchman’s return for El Clasico, on October 16, is still possible.
These are the initial injury reports we have seen since their formal releases, and in the days to come, we can probably expect to see more of the same.
