It is a fact. The 2022 Golden Boy Award has been given to Barcelona wonder Gavi.
At a news conference today, the announcement was made at the Hotel Villa Igiea in Palermo.
Gavi, who most recently won the Kopa Trophy for the Best Under-21 Player of the Year at the Ballon d’Or Gala, made it to the Golden Boy award’s final four along with Eduardo Camavinga of Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund, and Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich.

Last year, Barcelona star Pedri took first place. Several players, including Kylian Mbappe, Wayne Rooney, Sergio Aguero, and Lionel Messi, have received Tuttosport’s honor. Gavi has since entered the distinguished list.
Gavi had an incredible breakout season his last time out at Barça. After receiving his start under former manager Ronald Koeman, the young player only continued to develop, becoming an important member of the squad at Camp Nou.
The teenage player quickly made it onto the Spanish national team as well, and he distinguished out with some incredible displays in the UEFA Nations League the previous season.
In the current campaign, he has continued to rise, beating off more seasoned performers like Frenkie de Jong and Franck Kessie to start every game for Xavi.
He has only been a member of Barça for 61 games, but already he has two goals and seven assists.
Along with Gavi’s Golden Boy victory, Barcelona also celebrated as Alexia Putellas, the star of the Femeni team, was named the winner of the Golden Player Woman award just days after winning her second Ballon d’Or.
At the ceremony, which will take place on November 7 in Turin, Gavi will receive the honor. After Pedri’s victory last year and Messi’s victory in 2005, the 18-year-victory old’s means that Barcelona is now tied with Manchester United (3) as the team with the most Golden Boy award winners.
