Official: Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona squad breakdown for the 2022/23 season, with the addition of Marcos Alonso and Hector Bellerin.
Last night marked the official close of the summer transfer window. Unquestionably, it was one of the busiest and most exciting transfer windows in recent memory for Barcelona, who brought in a number of marquee players, including none other than Robert Lewandowski.
There were other notable exits as well; the Blaugrana were able to get rid of stars like Martin Braithwaite, Riqui Puig, and Samuel Umtiti who had fallen out of favor, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the team eight months after joining it.
Hector Bellerin’s arrival at Camp Nou on the day of the deadline sparked a flurry of activity, and today’s announcement of Marcos Alonso’s signing is anticipated. So, even though the rumors of a “surprise signing” never materialized, Barcelona had a great transfer window.
After the window closed, Xavi’s team for the season was complete. Here, we examine how the lineup turned out.
