Paris Saint-Germain forward called ‘Selfish’ and got slammed by fans after failing to pass for Lionel Messi.
Fans of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) criticized player Kylian Mbappe for being conceited and not treating his teammate Lionel Messi with appropriate respect.
On August 28, Paris Saint-home Germain’s Ligue 1 match against AS Monaco ended in a tie.
In the game’s 20th minute, Kevin Volland gave the visitors the lead. In the 70th minute of the game, Neymar Jr.’s well-taken penalty allowed the Parisians to salvage a point.
Fans, however, criticized Mbappe for something that happened during the game. In one occasion, he chose to shoot from outside the box rather than pass to Messi, who was free and had the opportunity to score.
In the 87th minute, with the side in need of a goal, manager Christophe Galtier decided to substitute Messi, which infuriated the crowd.
The Argentine, in the opinion of many, was playing far better than Mbappe. They feel the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner should have been replaced by the World Cup champion from 2018.
Fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Mbappe and Galtier on Twitter. Following are a few of their responses:
Mbappe is the most selfish player in football history.
Agree or argue with the wall

None of the PSG have been very impressive today, but you can’t tell me Messi was worse than Mbappé to be subbed off.

Messi was the best of the front 3 tonight and if Mbappe hadn't been so agonizingly selfish Messi would've at least scored twice.

Even though PSG could only draw with Monaco on Sunday, they have had a tremendous start to their Ligue 1 season. From their first four league games of the season, the Parisians have collected 10 points while scoring 18 goals.
The same number of points have been scored so far this season by Marseille and Lens as well. However, Christophe Galtier’s team is in front of the other two teams in the standings because to their superior goal differential.
For Paris Saint-Germain so far this season, Neymar has been incredible. In five games this season across competitions, the Brazilian scored 14 goals. The forward’s season has off to a spectacular start with eight goals and six assists in only five games.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi has also enjoyed a strong start to the season. The Argentine maestro has four goals and two assists after four games.
He had a challenging season last time around after moving from FC Barcelona. In 34 games in all competitions, he contributed 15 assists in addition to his 11 goals.
The young magician, nevertheless, appears to be this season’s version of himself. It will be interesting to see if he can maintain the high standards he established while living in Spain.
PSG supporters will be hoping for a good UEFA Champions League campaign this season with their front three operating at full strength at the beginning of the season.
