Paris Saint-Germain manager names ‘selfless’ player in PSG squad despite the victory over OGC Nice.
Forward Lionel Messi has been characterized as a selfless player by Paris Saint-Germain manager Christopher Galtier.
Galtier made this statement after Messi struck an incredible free kick in their 2-1 Ligue 1 victory over OGC Nice on Saturday.
The Argentine captain gave PSG the lead with a spectacular free-kick from nearly 25 yards that beat Nice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
Messi once more demonstrated his skill at set pieces with his 60th direct free-kick of his career.
At his post-game press conference, Galtier expressed his satisfaction with Messi’s performance against Nice (via Get France Football News).
“It gives me great pleasure to observe him in training every morning. He’s joyful and in high spirits. He has always been accustomed to scoring and is a very selfless player, according to Galtier.
“He is starting to crave goals once more. Will he ever again be the best player in the world? Yes, provided that he is in fantastic shape this summer. He has planned well. He’s content. And he performs well when he is happy.
