Paris Saint-Germain sporting director finally speak about Lionel Messi future amid Barcelona rumours.
Luis Campos, the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, said to RMC Sport (h/t Fabrizio Romano) that he had already contacted Lionel Messi to ask the Argentine to extend his contract with the team.
Following the expiration of his contract with FC Barcelona, Messi joined PSG last year. After a somewhat sluggish start to life in the French capital the previous season, the 35-year-old has developed into one of Les Parisiens’ top players.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future is, however, once again up for debate since his deal with PSG expires the next year. Although the 35-year-old is free to extend it by another year, there are significant rumors that Barcelona wants to re-sign him.

However, PSG are also attempting to lock him into a new contract at the same time. And Campos, their recently recruited sporting director, has acknowledged talking to Messi about extending his stay at Parc des Princes for an additional three years.
“I questioned Messi about staying and told him that I hoped he would stay for the duration of my stint here, which is three years. Leo has my utmost satisfaction,” declared Campos.
However, it is now well known that Messi will wait to decide on his future until after the FIFA World Cup.
The Albiceleste captain, who tasted Copa America victory with Argentina last year, has his sights set on the World Cup and is only considering his season with PSG and the World Cup.
A choice on his future won’t be made until after the quadrennial competition, which will get underway in Qatar in November.
In his first ten games across all competitions, Messi has had a strong start to the 2022–23 season, having already scored five goals and assisted on eight others.
