Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi given a new nickname by Argentine teammates.
His Argentina colleagues have given Lionel Messi a peculiar new moniker.
In Saturday’s 3-0 triumph over Honduras, the 35-year-old scored twice, the second of which was a lovely chip.
Argentina is entering the World Cup this winter in Qatar with a winning record of 34 games.
The rest of the team loves Messi, so they’ve let his moniker slide.
According to the Mirror, Messi wrote on social media, “As the weasel stings.”
The first to comment, midfielder Papu Gomez, saying, “The weasel is nuts.”
Messi’s peers therefore call him a weasel. Without a doubt, nobody anticipated that.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is sometimes referred to as the “G.O.A.T.” (Greatest Of All Time), and this season, Paris Saint-uniforms Germain’s have the acronym on the sleeve.
A shoe marketplace called “GOAT” has replaced Stock X as the new sleeve sponsor for PSG. Before someone gets too worked up, it’s not a homage to Messi.

Despite the fact that Argentina hasn’t won the World Cup since 1986, Lionel Scaloni’s team is among the favorites.
They did succeed in winning the Copa America in 2021, and they overcame Italy in June to take home the Finalissima trophy as European Champions.
Given how many club matches there are between now and the World Cup’s start in November, Messi is hoping that “La Albiceleste” can bring a fully healthy group. This will likely be Messi’s final World Cup.
“I think it is complicated at the level of matches, there are many games and little downtime, but you have to confront it like always, if you are going to play thinking about the World Cup, taking care of yourself or not messing up in the end might be worse,” he said in a statement to TyC Sports.
“I am one of those who believe that things occur for a reason, and if anything needs to occur, it will occur. God willing, nobody will be harmed, and we can all arrive in our current states.”
Argentina is in Group C with Poland, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico. On November 22, they’ll launch their offensive against Saudi Arabia.
