Perfect Cristiano Ronaldo replacement: Manchester United could push for €100 million Atletico Madrid forward.
Joao Felix, a forward for Atletico Madrid, is reportedly interested in leaving the team and wants to join Manchester United.
Throughout this season, Felix has been linked to United, and in recent months, he hasn’t been an everyday starter for Atletico.
In fact, the Portugal international has only started twice in his last 10 club appearances.
At Atletico, he has frequently been passed over in favor of Antoine Griezmann and Alvaro Morata, despite having four goals and three assists in 18 games this season.
Meanwhile, United is searching for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the team on Tuesday by mutual consent.
Together, Ronaldo and Felix will represent their countries at the World Cup in Qatar. Both athletes will team up on the international stage.
Erik ten Hag’s team may also make a move for a player who cost Atletico a princely £113 million when he transferred from Benfica to the club in 2019.
Recent reports indicate that his stay in Madrid might be soon coming to an end.
Joao Felix might depart From Atletico
Felix wants to leave Atletico, according to the Spanish publication AS. The player is reportedly ‘disappointed’ with manager Diego Simeone over his current position in the team.
Although it is rumored that the club won’t let him go for a pittance, a loan might be an option to let him leave Madrid.
However, no offers have been made for his services as of yet, and Felix is willing to postpone making any decisions about his future until after the World Cup.
The 23-year-old is participating in international competition in Qatar, where Ghana and Portugal are the Group H opponents. They will then play South Korea and Uruguay in group stage matches.
Felix said, “I have more freedom of movement with the national team because we are very mobile,” prior to the competition.
“In their 4-0 victory over Nigeria in a pre-World Cup friendly, I feel good, and the team played well. I believe we are ready to take home the World Cup.”
