PSG are prepared to rival Barcelona for the signature of €94m Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva. He is open to leaving.
During a recent press conference, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi adamantly asserted that the club’s era of bling is over and that the organization is prepared to change its image and pursue a significant sporting project.
This was demonstrated by the replacement of sporting director Leandro and head coach Mauricio Pochettino with Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos. Since then, they have signed Vitinha, Nordi Mukiele, and Hugo Ekitike for a total of no more than €52 million.
However, the dependable Santi Aouana claims that PSG will now compete with Barcelona for the services of Bernardo Silva of Manchester City.
Evidently, PSG wants to completely restructure their midfield, as they are reportedly close to acquiring Renato Sanches for about €15 million.
Bernardo was hired by AS Monaco when Campos was the organization’s director there. During his time with the Ligue 1 team, the Portuguese made his name known together with players like Tiemoue Bakayoko, Thomas Lemar, James Rodriguez, and of course, Kylian Mbappe.
Bernardo has a price tag of €85-€94 million, and Man City most likely wouldn’t object to his departing if the asking amount was paid.
Barcelona is the front-runner to obtain his signature even if they have no deal with City. In reality, they would have to let go of Frenkie de Jong before making a strong effort to sign Bernardo.
Despite this, the 27-year-old midfielder would reportedly be open to go back to France, according to Aouana. PSG, who has far more financial resources than Barcelona, might be able to hire him.
