The Real Madrid officials are reportedly persuaded to negotiate a new contract with the Spanish international in order to extend his stay at the club beyond the current campaign as a result of the player’s attitude and performances.
Although rumors suggest that Los Blancos will talk to Asensio’s agent, Jorge Mendes, during the World Cup break, things are currently much closer to being settled than they were in the summer.
Although Asensio will continue to be Real Madrid’s fifth-choice attacker behind Karim Benzema, Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Jr., and Federico Valverde, who has excelled on the right flank, Cortegana notes that Asensio’s new contract will not significantly increase his current salary.
Asensio’s contract extension is desired, but Real Madrid continues to place more emphasis on the growth and development of young players like Vinicius and Rodrygo.
