Real Madrid are interested in signing Premier League duo as they’re tracking them closely at the World Cup.
Real Madrid has a long history of spending a lot of money on World Cup stars. Some of the names that Los Blancos signed in the transfer windows right after a World Cup include Ronaldo, Fabio Cannavaro, Mesut Ozil, James Rodriguez, and Thibaut Courtois.
Real Madrid is therefore keeping a close eye on the quadrennial football tournament that is currently taking place in Qatar in order to spot and sign the next big World Cup star.
Additionally, a report from SPORT claims that Real Madrid is keeping a close eye on the World Cup performances of Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot and Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka.
Both players have been mentioned in connection with transfers to the Santiago Bernabeu in the past, but nothing concrete has come of it. However, the report states that Los Blancos are keeping an eye on Saka and Dalot at the World Cup.
At the World Cup, Saka has already made a big impression, scoring twice in England’s crushing 6-1 victory over Iran on Monday. The 21-year-Arsenal old’s contract expires in 2024, and the club is rumored to be willing to offer him a new one.
As his options on the right flank, Carlo Ancelotti has alternated between Rodrygo and Federico Valverde. However, Valverde will have to switch to his natural midfield position going forward because Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are nearing the end of their careers. This will make room for a winger like Saka to join the team.
Dalot’s contract at Manchester United is about to expire, but the Red Devils have the option to extend it by another year, which they are likely to do. However, Real Madrid is keeping an eye on the Portuguese right-back as a potential long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.
In addition to the pair, Real Madrid is keeping an eye on Jude Bellingham, who co-starred with Saka in England’s victory over Iran.
