Real Madrid are ready to battle it out with Barcelona for the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s Moukoko.
Youngster Youssoufa Moukoko of Borussia Dortmund is attracting a lot of interest from elite clubs in Europe, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Juventus all planning to compete for his signature next summer, according to SPORT.
Moukoko, a graduate of Dortmund’s youth academy, has been a part of the first team conversation for a while. However, the 17-year-old has truly taken off in the current campaign, making some incredibly powerful appearances.
In fact, after just 12 Bundesliga games this season, the young striker has already scored six goals and assisted on four more, two of which came against VfL Bochum earlier today.
Clubs are lining up to sign Moukoko, a forward who turns 18 later this month, as he is expected to become a free agent at the end of the current campaign.
As they don’t have a suitable replacement for Karim Benzema in the No. 9 position, Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Moukoko in the past and could use a player like him.
It will become more challenging for Real Madrid as competition for the German Under-21 international heats up. After all, the young striker may find clubs like Barcelona, Liverpool, and Juventus to be appealing.
Additionally, it is not impossible for him to stay at Dortmund in the future. Moukoko stated following the contest with VfL Bochum (h/t Fabrizio Romano):
“I have spent the past seven years at Borussia Dortmund, and I feel at home here. I am well-versed in this club, and Terzic, the manager, has my confidence.
Therefore, there is a chance that Moukoko will also be persuaded to sign a new contract with Dortmund. If not, Real Madrid will be prepared to pounce but first must fend off opposition from a number of other teams.
