Real Madrid has sent scout to watch Bundesliga left-back at the World Cup tournament.
Real Madrid intends to monitor a number of players’ tournament performances as the FIFA World Cup 2022 gets underway in Qatar, according to SPORT.
The Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies is one of the stars that the reigning champions of Spain and Europe will be keeping a close eye on.
The 22-year-old will compete for the Canadian national team at the World Cup and will be paired with Croatia’s Luka Modric after facing Belgian duo Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard of Real Madrid in Group F of the competition.
Additionally, Real Madrid intends to monitor Davies’ performance throughout the competition.
Davies, one of the most dangerous attack-minded left-backs in Europe, has risen to prominence at Bayern Munich recently. The Canadian has played in 19 games this season, scoring one goal and assisting on four others across all competitions.
Real Madrid has long been a fan of Davies and may look to add someone to fill the left-back position as some club members are still not sold on Ferland Mendy.
According to reports, Los Blancos aren’t sure if they should keep the French defender or sell him.
Carlo Ancelotti views David Alaba as a center-back even though the Austrian is capable of playing as a left-back. As a result, the Spanish capital team may soon be looking to add a new left-sided full-back, making Davies a potential target.
The report asserts that Davies’ market value is a staggering €70 million, though. Real Madrid will have a difficult time luring him away from Bayern Munich because of the length of his contract, which runs until 2025.
