“Real Madrid shirt can be stain with blood and mud but can never be stain with shame” – Bernabeu message.
During the team’s journey to the Spanish capital, Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger posted something on his social media. Rudiger scored the game-winning goal for the club in the 95th minute, but not before colliding with the Shakhtar goalkeeper and needing 20 stitches to stem the bleeding.
“What doesn’t kill you strengthens you. I’m well, and I appreciate all of your messages,” Rudiger stated.
According to club insiders, Rudiger will have a scan today to make sure he didn’t sustain any head fractures as a result of the incident, but the team doctors feel optimistic about his condition.
When questioned about the German defender during the post-game press conference, Ancelotti responded, “Rüdiger has a cut on his face, but he is conscious, speaking, and smiling.
Rudiger will be able to play against Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clasico if he truly avoided a fracture, though he probably won’t start.
Antonio Rudiger wanted to change his shirt that was filled with blood and get back on the field but Carlo stopped him.
Carlo Ancelotti and Toni Kroos talks Antonio Rudiger after the game last night, with the former Chelsea defender scoring the only goal that secure one point for the Spanish giants.
Toni Kroos: “Let’s hope Antonio is OK. We know he’s very strong in the air, that’s why I told him to push up.”
Carlo Ancelotti: “Rüdiger? He has a cut in his forehead but he’s fine. He’s happy because he scored an important goal.”
