REPORT: Real Madrid Joined Arsenal And Juventus In The Race To Land Werner this summer, as Asensio and Mayoral are weighing up a move.
Real Madrid, the La Liga winners, is reportedly considering signing Chelsea attacker Timo Werner, who is also wanted by Arsenal and Juventus.
Timo Werner is the subject of interest from Chelsea regarding a potential move in the summer transfer window, according to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central.
Arsenal and Juventus are also interested in the struggling Chelsea attacker, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the upcoming weeks.
Timo Werner left RB Leipzig for Chelsea amid much pomp and expectation after ending the 2019–20 Bundesliga season as one of the league’s best scorers. But the 26-year-old hasn’t been the dynamic attacker he was at RB Leipzig, and his goals have come at a far slower pace.
The German international has been one of Chelsea’s most productive players over the past two seasons, but his current stats are below average with only 23 goals and 21 assists in 89 appearances.
And according to recent rumours, Real Madrid and Arsenal have expressed interest in him, therefore he might leave Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
Carlo recently asserted that Real Madrid won’t look to add to their roster during the summer transfer window. But given Mayoral and Mariano’s futures at the Santiago Bernabeu are questionable, Los Blancos may need to look for a striker soon. And the Madrid manager has recently changed his tune, saying that if a couple players depart, he might ask for an attacker.
The versatility of Werner makes him a possible target for Real Madrid, and he could serve as Karim Benzema’s backup while also being a regular for Carlo Ancelotti. But in order to sign the German international from Chelsea, Real Madrid will have to beat out tough competition from Arsenal.
After securing the services of Gabriel Jesus and binding Eddie Nketiah to a new contract, the Gunners do not need to acquire a striker.
Due to Werner’s adaptability, however, Arsenal may consider using the Chelsea forward on the wings in place of Nicolas Pepe, who isn’t performing well.
Juventus is another team interested in Werner in addition to Real Madrid and Arsenal. The most recent rumours, however, have indicated that Chelsea would want to hang onto the 26-year-old after the summer transfer season.
Real Madrid, Arsenal, and other parties will be forced to find solutions in this circumstance, but they will be hoping to get Werner from Chelsea this summer.
