Ivory Coast couldn’t secure a victory over Sierra Leone on Sunday after a late equalizer. We’ll be looking at some of the things learnt from the game, including Eric Bailly’s injury.

Serge Aurier Stepped In The Goal After The Goalkeeper Stretched Off

Serge Aurier is one of the top performers against Sierra Leone, but he couldn’t secure a victory. The former Tottenham did really well against Sierra Leone and the Ivorian captain had to switch to the goal in the final minutes.

The Ivorian goalkeeper had to come off in the final minutes of the game, after he suffered an injury. Sangare couldn’t stop the equalizer in the final minutes of the game and the fans were frustrated.

Eric Bailly Suffered An Injury In The Final Minutes

The Manchester United defender also suffered an injury in the final minutes of the game and he couldn’t continue. Eric Bailly played his part against Sierra Leone, but his team shared the points.

Eric Bailly made some lovely interceptions and clearances in the game and he is one of the top players on the pitch. I would say that this injury problem has caused him a lot because when he comes back to his best, he will be ruled out.

That’s the reason why Eric Bailly is yet to break into the starting XI at Manchester United. He can’t play 25 straight games without injury. He could be back before the last Ivory Coast game and the manager will be excited to see him.

Sierra Leone With A Performance To Remember

Sierra Leone didn’t play the AFCON for more than 20 years, but the country came back with confidence and they played as a team. They have got this team spirit and the players always gave their all until the final whistle.

When Ivory Coast thought that they have won the game, the boys came out to equalize the goal in the final minutes of the game. It’s a disappointing result for Ivory Coast and it’s also a performance to remember for Sierra Leone.

Nicolas Pepe And Sebastian Haller Shine

Sebastian Haller opened the scoring in the first half, after Kessie missed the penalty. Ivory Coast got the golden opportunity to take the lead, but the AC Milan midfielder failed to convert the goal.

Sebastian Haller, who has been performing well in the Champions League scored the first goal against Sierra Leone, he came through for his country last night. Sebastian Haller is one of the top players on the pitch.

Nicolas Pepe came big for Ivory Coast last night. The Arsenal winger scored the second goal against Sierra Leone. Nicolas Pepe did extremely well and I will name him the man of the match.

Despite that Nicolas Pepe scored against Sierra Leone, he went ahead to create 5 key passes in the game. The funniest thing is that his teammates didn’t make use of the chances he created.

It might be one of his best performances for Ivory Coast. He gave his all against Sierra Leone, but they couldn’t secure a victory.
