Even though Sergio Aguero’s time at Barcelona as a player last season was quite brief, the Argentine legend won over the supporters during that time.
The striker had to quit earlier this year due to a cardiac condition. He has now overcome the problem, resumed training, and even joined the Barcelona squad on their preseason tour of the United States to practice.
The former Argentine international is fairly active on streaming services. He recently took part in an interview where he discussed a variety of subjects, including Robert Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona and Messi’s exit the previous year.
With the addition of Raphinha, Lewandowski, and the re-signing of Ousmane Dembele, Barça suddenly has an abundance of offensive talents. Aguero responded to the question of if the attacking section seems overbooked:
“It’s a wise move. There are injuries in football. Pep uses this approach because he always has a number of players available for each position. When I was unable to play for Man City, Gabriel Jesus or De Bruyne as a false nine could.
“Xavi requires versions in each of the positions to compete in La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Champions League.”
When asked about his health, Aguero gleefully acknowledged that he had begun to run and exercise. He even made the joke that he would be ready if Xavi wanted to add him to the Barcelona team.
“I’ve begun exercising and jogging right now to see if Barça would sign me once more. If you want, I’m available to play, I’ll tell Xavi, and maybe he’ll say he’ll sign me and he’ll have another striker, as he’s suddenly signing a lot of strikers,” he joked.
Aguero praised Lewandowski’s acquisition, saying: “What Lewandowski accomplished at Bayern must be demonstrated at Barcelona. In my opinion, the Premier League and La Liga are on a higher level than the Bundesliga. The German league is still powerful, though.
The former Barcelona striker said, “I really enjoy the way Dembélé plays,” in reference to Dembele.
Aguero poked fun at Barça’s bitter rivals Real Madrid throughout the live for their failure to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG despite pursuing him for years.

Did you hear that Mbappé was signed by Real Madrid? “Ibai [streamer] was continually telling me ‘Mbappé, Mbappé, Mbappé,” he said, smiling. Mbappé is expected to join with Real Madrid How long have Madrid supporters been anticipating Mbappé? Over three years?”
Aguero stated while discussing his move to Barcelona in the past summer that he didn’t think twice before accepting the offer. He also stated that he declined bigger offers from Italy in favor of relocating to Catalonia.
“They informed me that Barça had offered me an offer when my contract with Manchester City expired, but I didn’t even think about it,”
Aguero also discussed the reasons why Lionel Messi left Barcelona last summer. He acknowledged that he had to forgo some financial gain in order to play with his countryman, and he was sad to see him go. He said, “I was quite unhappy, but that’s football.
A week after Messi left Barça, the former Manchester City sensation disclosed that he had been approached about leaving the club. Joan Laporta, the club’s president, informed him that the team wanted him to stay and did not want to sell him.
“A team gave me an offer and was prepared to fulfill my release clause a week after Messi departed. Additionally, I had just recently joined the club. I was shocked, so I asked my representative to clarify this offer with Laporta,” he stated.
Laporta assured me that all of the rumors—including the one that they wanted to sell me because Messi didn’t renew—were untrue. They wanted me to remain, according to Laporta.
Speaking further on how Messi and footballers in general are treated by clubs, Aguero claimed that these organizations treat their players like commodities.
“In football, the club always has the control over everything, and they must make choices, even when we as players give everything for the team. The club is a business that must consider a variety of challenges. Although that seems horrible, for me, that is the situation.
