“The Butcher” Lisandro Martinez’s impressive debut stats vs Rayo Vallecano.
The 5’9″ center-back gave a confident performance and appeared to have previously worn a United jersey.
Out of the two center-backs that began, including Raphael Varane, Martinez was solid for the first 45 minutes. Despite joining the team just this week, Martinez appeared to be well ahead of the rest of them in terms of season preparation.
One of the game’s biggest pluses was the international player from Argentina, who had a perfect success rate for both tackles and accurate passes in the final third.
Martinez also had a respectable 96 percent pass completion rate and made a crucial block just before halftime.

Given that this was Martinez’s debut in a United jersey, this achievement is all the more remarkable.
For our center-backs, the upcoming weeks will bring greater difficulties.
The Manchester United fans were so excited to see him in a Red kit for the first time and he did extremely well.
There’s a possibility that Lisandro Martinez will start ahead of Victor Lindelof or Raphael Varane against Brighton next week Sunday.
The score was even at 1-1. Amad Diallo scored the only goal for Erik ten Hag’s men. The Ivorian youngster came from the bench to find the net.
