Video: Fans go wild after what Manchester United loanee Alvaro Fernandez did on full Preston debut.
Preston North End crushed Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup thanks to two assists from Alvaro Fernandez, a promising player for Manchester United.
Alvaro Fernandez, who is on loan from Manchester United and helped Preston North End defeat Huddersfield Town 4-1 on Tuesday night, received a lot of praise from the team’s supporters.
Fernandez received his first senior start in English football from manager Ryan Lowe after coming off the bench in both of Preston’s first two league games. Fernandez was given the assignment to start in the left wing-back position. He performed admirably in the position, contributing two assists to the Lancashire team’s first victory of the year.
Alistair McCann scored both of his goals in the space of just 10 first-half minutes thanks to Fernandez, who was a persistent threat down the left side and who last month signed a season-long loan agreement with Preston.
However, his night came to an abrupt end at halftime when he was forced to leave due to an ankle injury. Lowe then clarified that it was a preventative measure, emphasizing that there is no need for concern over a serious injury.
Even though his night was shorter than he had hoped, he nevertheless left an impression on the North End fans who had traveled to the John Smith’s Stadium from a reasonably close distance. And the admiration from his audience, who praised him on social media, was no secret.
Lowe remarked about Fernandez, who finished his 45-minute outing with a 100% pass completion rate: “He’s an amazing kid, though, isn’t he? every aspect of him. He receives inquiries on a daily basis and is playing a different position for us than what he probably does at Manchester United—left wing-back, not left-back.
“Let’s get one thing straight, he is learning from one of the best – who has played in the Premiership – in the competition with Robbie Brady down that side. Even before and after the game, he is constantly educating him.
“He is a wonderful talent; if you aren’t talented, you don’t play for Real Madrid and Manchester United.
