Vinicius Jr makes Champions League

Vinicius Jr makes Champions League claim after ‘indescribable’ Liverpool moment as the Brazilian youngster wants more this season.

This summer, Real Madrid defeated Liverpool to get to their 14th Champions League final.

According to Real Madrid player Vinicius Jr., it was “only fair” that they be named champions after their tremendous season following the Champions League final in Paris.

Just a few weeks prior to the championship game, the Spanish team won the La Liga title, and the 22-year-old winger went on to score the game-winning goal in Paris. Liverpool had opportunities, but Thibaut Courtois the goalie stopped them all.

Vinicius had a strong season for Real Madrid last year, contributing to 20 assists and scoring 22 goals across all competitions. He did, however, acknowledge that performing on the largest stage of them all was a “indescribable” emotion.

“It was only fair to award us with a victory in the championship game after such a fantastic season, he said to realmadrid.com.

“I’ve been playing football for more than 15 years, so I wanted to take full use of the opportunity. You never know when you’ll get to play in a championship game. (Scoring against Liverpool) was an experience I won’t soon forget.

“This emotion can only be understood by those who have scored in a Champions League game of this nature. It can’t be described. There is no way for you to describe it or to explain it.

Only those who have experienced the feelings we had this season and lived football can truly understand how essential it is and how joyful it makes you.

Liverpool will be more eager than ever to win even more hardware as Real Madrid gets ready for the new campaign and looks to repeat their glory from 2021–2022. The Reds face Manchester City this weekend in the FA Community Shield, which comes before the Premier League season begins the following week.
