Manchester United will be looking for a new manager next summer because it seems clear that Ralf Rangnick will not be given the full-time job.
The English premier league club has been struggling since the departure of Alex Ferguson.
Manchester United has appointed up to four managers since the departure of the Scottish manager.
David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Solskjaer all worked at the club as a permanent manager.
Ralf Rangnick was appointed as the interim manager after the club dismissed Ole Gunner last year, but it seems clear that Rangnick will work together with the board if his contract runs out in June.
Who will become the next Manchester United permanent manager?
1. Zinedine Zidane – Unemployed
Zinedine Zidane left his role as the Real Madrid manager and the French manager is currently free. He is an unemployed and he will be ready to return back to management next summer.
The French manager is one of the favorite managers that could take over from Ralf Rangnick next summer. Zinedine Zidane is an experience manager and he did a great job at Real Madrid.
He won three UEFA Champions League trophies in a row and no manager has done that since the name was changed to UEFA. Though he is yet to work in the premier league, but he has faced EPL teams in the champions league before.
It was reported that Paris Saint Germain could make a move for the French manager in the summer.
2. Erik Ten Hag – Ajax
Erik Ten Hag has a successful season with Ajax in 2019 and he took his team to the UEFA Champions League Semi-final. Most of the Manchester United fans prefer Erik Ten Hag.
The Dutch manager has never managed a premier league team before, but he has done a great job at Ajax and he has proven to the world that he can do it anywhere.
Erik Ten Hag could be the favorite manager that will succeed at the club and he could become the next Fergie. He is an experience manager and he knows how to play champions league football.
Manchester United have failed to win a single trophy since the departure of Jose Mourinho and the club is likely to go trophyless this season. The red devils has been knocked out of the Carabao and FA Cup tournament.
The only competition that they could succeed is the UEFA Champions League and they will face Atletico Madrid this month. Erik Ten Hag could turn things around next season and it was said that Ralf Rangnick wants him as his replacement.
The Manchester United interim manager will also have his say on whom to become the next manager and it was reported that he want Erik over Pochettino.
3. Mauricio Pochettino – PSG
Mauricio Pochettino is currently leading the race to become the next manager, the Manchester United board wants him ahead of Erik Ten Hag.
According to multiple reports, the Manchester United players also prefer Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine manager has the premier league experience.
He did well at Tottenham and he took the team to the UEFA Champions League final in 2019. Pochettino is also a world class manager and he could be successful at the club.
4. Brendan Rodgers – Leicester City
Brendan Rodgers has been considered by the club and he also did really well at Leicester City. He won the FA Cup trophy against Chelsea last season.
Anything can happen, but I think that the board will first make a move for Pochettino and Erik before considering Rodgers. Leicester City are also fighting for top four this season.
The Manchester United board will make their decision before the end of the season.
