Xavi Hernandez approved the departure of Barcelona star midfielder as he set for club medical, after deal agreed between the two clubs.
According to the most recent information from Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic is about to finalize a transfer to Sharjah FC, a team based in the United Arab Emirates.
On Tuesday, the 32-year-old took a flight to the Middle East, and today, he will have his medical exam to complete the relocation.
Pjanic appeared to be in line for a second opportunity at Barcelona after making an impression on Xavi Hernandez during preseason play despite a lackluster loan stint at Besiktas in the 2021–2022 season.
At Spotify Camp Nou, the 32-year-old was thought of as Sergio Busquets’ backup. However, he had not played a single minute of on-field time after four games of the season. Frenkie de Jong’s refusal to leave also worked against him.
Pjanic gave a three-year contract offer from Sharjah FC careful thought before deciding to accept it and join the team.

As he took off for the UAE to complete the deal Friday night, the Bosnian international essentially confirmed the trade in a post on social media. Since Monday, a three-year pact has been in effect.
Pjanic will now finish off his physical at his new team on Tuesday before the trade is formally announced.
The 32-year-old will leave Barcelona and sign a free transfer to play for Sharjah FC. Contrary to Martin Braithwaite, the midfielder has waived his salary obligations for the remaining two years of his contract with the Blaugrana.
In the summer of 2020, Pjanic made the unwise decision to leave Juventus for Barcelona, which caused Arthur Melo to switch teams. With 30 appearances, all of which came in his rookie season under the then-manager Ronald Koeman, he will leave the club.
