Xavi Hernandez is ready to create space for Lionel Messi at Barcelona next summer amid rumour return.
As 2023 approaches, there have been numerous rumors regarding Lionel Messi’s future. The 35-year-old world-famous superstar’s deal at Paris Saint-Germain will expire, and a move back to Barcelona has been rumored.
Since Messi left Camp Nou last summer because the club was unable to renew his contract, it is said that president Joan Laporta has made it his top priority to lure him back for one last dance.
In order to achieve this goal, Barcelona has already started looking at strategies to entice the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner back to the team, with Laporta and company making an effort to heal fences with the Argentina captain.
Now, Gerard Romero has said in an interview with Carpetas FCB that manager Xavi Hernandez wants Lionel Messi to return to Barcelona next summer and will take all necessary steps to make the 35-year-old feel at home at the team should he make a comeback.

The return of Messi may have some bearing on the playing time of the current attackers given that Barça are constructing for the future under Xavi. However, Romero claims that the 42-year-old tactician is prepared to make room on the list for his former teammate.
Additionally, Xavi is reportedly prepared to surround Messi with whoever and whatever is required in order to give the PSG superstar a pleasant return to Camp Nou.
Messi, for his part, has his sights set on the next FIFA World Cup in Qatar rather than on his future. Once the quadrennial spectacular is over, he will decide on his future.
Given the efforts that Xavi, Laporta, and Barcelona are prepared to make to lure the former club captain back to his old ground, a return to Spotify Camp Nou may actually become a possibility.
