Xavi received massive boost as superstar midfielder returns back to training ahead of Celta Vigo game.
Frenkie de Jong has resumed training ahead of Barcelona’s match against Celta Vigo, according to Alejandro Segura of Radio MARCA. This is fantastic news for the team’s injury situation.
The 25-year-old midfielder sustained an injury while representing the Netherlands’ national team last month. The midfielder was forced to miss Barça’s games against RCD Mallorca and Inter Milan as a result.
However, it appears that de Jong has resumed team training, giving manager Xavi Hernandez great team news ahead of a busy schedule of fixtures.

After playing Celta Vigo in La Liga, Barcelona will play Inter Milan once more in the UEFA Champions League. After that, they play in what may be the most important match of the season thus far as they journey to the Santiago Bernabeu to play Real Madrid in the opening El Clasico.
It’s crucial for Xavi to have access to all of his players given the quantity of upcoming games.
De Jong being back in the lineup will be a huge plus for Xavi and Barça because Franck Kessie is struggling to make an impression and there isn’t a strong Sergio Busquets replacement.
De Jong hasn’t been a regular starter, but he’s excelled whenever the management has needed him to. Pedri, Gavi, and Busquets have typically been Xavi’s first-choice starting midfielders, but the Dutchman can add another option during a busy stretch of games.
